Dennis Alcapone is one of Jamaica’s pioneering Reggae MC’s. Inspired by U Roy, he began his career voicing on Ska & rocksteady riddims produced by the legendary Bunny Lee, Duke Reid, Coxsone Dodd & Lee Perry.

He had a string of hits throughout the early 70’s and toured excessively until the death of his mother in 1979. He returned to live performance and recording in the 1988 and appeared at the WOMAD festival in 1989.

He returned to Jamaica in 1990 to record again with Bunny Lee, and also made an appearance on Adrian Sherwood’s Two Bad Card album. He released an album with Mad Professor in 1997 and has since become very popular throughout Europe for his live performances and original style.
